Correctional Services Bureau and the Association of Rehabilitation of Drug Abusers of Macau Jointly Organizes “Inmates and Juvenile Delinquents’ Handicraft Exhibition” (2024-05-05)


The “Art and Rebirth – An Exhibition of Inmates and Juvenile Delinquents’ Handicrafts”, jointly organized by the Correctional Services Bureau and the Association of Rehabilitation of Drug Abusers of Macau, opened at the Association’s H2H gallery in Ká Hó on 5 May afternoon. The exhibition aims to allow members of the public to feel the inmates and juvenile delinquents’ determination of self-reform, and raise society’s attention, support and acceptance of their social rehabilitation through showcasing the achievements from their diligent learning.

The opening ceremony was jointly hosted by Acting Director of Coloane Prison of the Correctional Services Bureau Ho Sio Mei and Vice-Officer of the Association of Rehabilitation of Drug Abusers of Macau Cheung Lik Hang. The handicrafts on display in the exhibition are all personally made by inmates and juvenile delinquents. The types of handicrafts include cross stitch art, paper art, bamboo and shell carvings, modern oil paintings, Chinese landscape paintings, as well as ornaments and home products made with flour, clay and other eco-friendly materials.

The “Art and Rebirth – An Exhibition of Inmates and Juvenile Delinquents’ Handicrafts” will be held at the H2H gallery of the Nossa Senhora Village of Ká Hó until 26 May. Admission is free and the exhibition opens from Monday to Tuesday from 10:30 to 17:00 and Friday to Sunday from 10:30 to 18:30. All members of the public are welcome. Let us support the social rehabilitation of inmates and juvenile delinquents together.
