On 6 December, a five-member delegation of the Prison Administrative Bureau, Ministry of Justice, led by Mr. Zhang Yousheng, Director of Guangdong Provincial Bureau of Drug Rehabilitation, visited the Correctional Services Bureau, for an exchange and discussion with Director Cheng Fong Meng, Deputy Director Loi Kam Wan and other management-level personnel of the Bureau on topics related to correctional and drug rehabilitation services.

The delegation members toured Coloane Prison facilities including the visit areas, cell areas, vocational training workshops and the Clinic, learning of the Prison’s functions and operation and the relevant laws and regulations, as well as listening to our staff’s presentation of the prison guards’ daily equipment, and special equipment for emergencies. Personnel of both parties also exchanged views, experiences and perspectives on the current circumstances of prison administration in both places, especially the prison system, staff recruitment and training, drug treatment and related counseling services.
