    • For details regarding application for the visiting permit, please refer to the “Application for Permit for Visiting an Inmate” pamphlet or contact staff of Social Assistance, Education and Training Division at (853) 2888 1211.
Video Visit
    • The launch of  the application for service of video visit to an inmate aims to enable the elderly, expectant mothers and individuals with limited mobility or disabilities to have a video conference with a family or friend in prison without having to travel a long way to Coloane Prison, located in Coloane.
    • Individuals wishing to pay a video visit to a family or friend in prison can submit an application to the Prison. After the application is approved, they can bring along the visiting permit and the valid ID document, and proceed to the Correctional Services Bureau and Information Centre, situated on the Macao Peninsula, and talk to a family or friend for up to one hour via the video conference system.

    • For details regarding application for special visit, please contact staff of Social Assistance, Education and Training Division at (853) 2888 1211.

2.  Procedures and Regulations for Visit
  • Upon arrival at the Prison, individuals authorized for visit need to present their valid ID (for regular visit, the visiting permit also has to be presented) to the registration window for verification of identity.
  • Based on security reasons, all visitors entering the Prison have to receive a security check, store all personal belongings in the locker and temporarily keep the locker key.
  • Upon completion of the security check and the registration, enter the waiting area for visits.

3.  Important Notes for Delivery of Items
  • During visit sessions, visitors can deliver items to inmates in accordance with the provisions of the “List of Deliverable Items” (Illustrated version)  (Text version). (※except video visit)
  • Upon arrival at the waiting area for visits, visitors should fill out a “List of Items Delivered to Inmates”, and hand the filled-out form and the items for the inmate to the prison guard for a security check.
  • Visitors with items that can only be delivered when in exchange for old/ used ones should consult the prison guards or prison social workers present.
  • Should there be any dispute during the process of item delivery, the decisions made based on results of the Prison’s security checks shall be final.
  • Since security checks take time, visitors are recommended to arrive at the Prison 15 minutes before the visit to avoid any loss of visit time.
  • For details of the items to be delivered for inmates, please refer to the “List of Deliverable Items” (Illustrated version)  (Text version).

4.  Important Notes
  • An Inmates can be visited by up to six individuals at the weekly visiting session. However, the visiting room can only accommodate three persons at a time (not including children below ten years old). If the number of visitors exceeds the maximum requirement, visitors will have to coordinate and divide their time in the visiting room on their own.
  • Inmates’ children or siblings under 16 years of age are exempt from visiting permits. However, for visits, they still have to present the valid ID and to be accompanied by individuals with the visiting permit or visiting authority.
  • Based on security reasons, the Prison will start handling the procedure for the visitor’s entry into its premises 30 minutes before the designated time of visit.
