Correctional Services Bureau Introduces “Visitor Access Code” Service (2026-06-30)

As part of the effort to continually optimize services for public convenience, starting 1 July 2026, the Correctional Services Bureau will have a new service named “Visitor Access Code” (QR code). Now, to pay a visit to an inmate in Coloane Prison, new applicants or holders of a valid visiting permit will simply have to show the “Visitor Access Code” for the visitation registration process, without having to present the visiting permit or their registered identification document. However, it is still a must for visitors to carry the permit and the document with them during visit sessions for purposes of identity verification where needed.

New applicants of the visiting permit can download the “Visitor Access Code” upon collection of the permit. Holders of a valid visiting permit can download the “Visitor Access Code” from 1 July 2026 onwards by logging in to the “Coloane Prison Online Application Service” section (https://www.dsc.gov.mo/siteen/web_opinion.aspx)on the Correctional Services Bureau website and entering and providing relevant information as prompted.
