In accordance with Law No. 7/2006, Personnel Statute for the Career of the Corps of Prison Guards, as amended by Law No. 7/2021, prison guards are divided into ten ranks, and they are, in descending order: commissioner of prison, deputy commissioner of prison, superintendent, deputy superintendent, senior chief officer, chief officer, officer, principal prison guard, 1^st class prison guard and prison guard.
