To enhance transparency of the Correctional Services Bureau’s work and deepen the public’s understanding of correctional services, and of the Prison’s enforcement of penalties and the Youth Correctional Institution’s education and supervision measuresfor young offenders, the Bureau receives visits from government bodies and organizations to Coloane Prison and Youth Correctional Institution. Moreover, such arrangements serve to allow the public to further understand the tremendous price to pay for committing crimes and help spread the positive message of crime prevention. The Bureaualso hopes the society can give more support and acceptance to the inmates and the housed juveniles, encouraging them to rebuild their lives in a proactive and positive manner.
