Inmates and Juvenile Delinquents’ Handicraft Exhibition 2026 to Open 4 September (2026-08-28)

The Inmates and Juvenile Delinquents’ Handicraft Exhibition 2026 will open at the Macao Science Center’s Convention Hall on 4 September, with public admission from 13:00. The exhibition is intended to serve as a platform to showcase the achievements from inmates and juvenile delinquents’ diligent learning efforts so that the society can witness their determination to self-reform, and support and acceptance toward their social reintegration can be raised.

Jointly organized by the Correctional Services Bureau and the Macao Science Center, and in association with the Municipal Affairs Bureau, the Social Welfare Bureau, and the Education and Youth Development Bureau, this year’s exhibition will continue to be themed “Showcasing Talents, Fostering Inclusiveness, Rebuilding Lives”, and will display and sell a large variety of handicrafts – over 6,000 pieces, including wood carvings, oil paintings, cross stitch art, knitted ornaments, the ink wash painting light, and paper cutting and origami crafts – each meticulously handmade by inmates or juvenile delinquents. Also featured at the exhibition venue are: electronic display boards introducing the various offender rehabilitation services offered by the Correctional Services Bureau, the Social Welfare Bureau and the Education and Youth Development Bureau; a parent-child DIY area for rubbing, where visitors of the exhibition get to experience the joy of crafting the intangible cultural heritage; as well as 13 game booths set up by a number of government departments, social service organizations, and business entities at the Heart-shaped Tree Square outside the exhibition venue. The Correctional Services Bureau’s care buddy, Shiny, will also be at the venue to have fun with members of the public.

This year’s exhibition will be held on 4 to 6 September. The opening times will be from 13:00 to 18:00 on 4 September and 10:00 to 18:00 on 5 and 6 September. Admission to the exhibition is free. Also, with the booth game point card or the receipt of the purchase made on site, visitors can redeem a free entry ticket to the Exhibition Center of the Macao Science Center. All members of the public are welcome for a visit to the exhibition and join us in supporting inmates and juvenile delinquents in their journey toward a new life, and in building a caring and inclusive society.
