Coloane Prison of Correctional Services Bureau to Move to Its New Site on 19 October (2024-10-16)

The relocation of the Correctional Services Bureau’s Coloane Prison will start on 19 October morning and is expected to complete within the same day. For a seamless relocation process and security reasons, temporary traffic control measures, including one-way traffic arrangement, altered bus routes, and parking space suspensions, will be implemented in related areas. The Public Security Police Force will dispatch manpower to maintain order in areas near the relocation route, and we ask that members of the public passing through those areas follow the instructions of the police officers on site and pay attention to the latest traffic information released by the Transport Bureau. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to members of the public and road users during Coloane Prison’s relocation.

In addition, on the day of its relocation (19 October), Coloane Prison will suspend all its visiting services. With effect from the next day (20 October), Coloane Prison’s old site at Rua de S. Francisco Xavier, s/n, Coloane will cease operation, and all services, including inmate visits, delivery of articles to inmates and meetings with social workers, will be moved to its new site (Coloane Prison, Correctional Services Bureau, Estrada da Barragem de Ká Hó, Coloane).
